Labubu Fever Grips Delhi Ahead of Halloween
The spooky season has cast its spell on Delhi-NCR, where Halloween fever is taking over markets and malls. With Halloween 2025 just around the corner, shoppers are thronging Khan Market, Lajpat Nagar, and other popular hubs to stock up on everything from creepy masks to eerie decorations and this year, one toy is stealing the spotlight: the Labubu doll.
Inside the narrow lanes of Khan Market, stores are buzzing with customers hunting for Halloween-themed merchandise. From skull props to cobweb lights, the demand for quirky decor has skyrockete, but nothing compares to the craze for Labubu dolls. “So many customers are asking for Halloween special Labubu dolls. Every time that we restock it, it gets sold out. So, we have been taking pre-orders for these,” said shopkeeper Kunal Thadiani, surrounded by shelves of glowing pumpkins and spooky figurines.
This year, the festival promises an even grander celebration as it falls on Friday, October 31, setting the stage for a weekend filled with costumes, candy, and chaos. While the roots of Halloween trace back to the Celtic festival of Samhain, marking the end of harvest and the onset of winter, it has evolved into a global celebration of imagination, a time when fear becomes fun and ghosts are welcomed as guests.
Once centred on warding off spirits through bonfires and disguises, Halloween has transformed into a cultural spectacle celebrated worldwide. Today, it’s about vibrant costumes, haunted house parties, and trick-or-treat adventures that bring neighbourhoods alive. In India, the trend is fast catching up, especially among the youth, who are blending global traditions with local flair from Bollywood-style costumes to desi-themed horror parties.
As the countdown to October 31 begins, Delhi-NCR is gearing up for its most festive Halloween yet. Whether it’s the glow of jack-o’-lanterns or the frenzy for Labubu collectibles, the capital’s streets are alive with spooky spirit and playful anticipation.
